Old Business:
1. Playground installation – Due the rain, no work has been done on getting the stone spread. The road crew will be working on it in the next week. Once the stone is down, time will be scheduled to place the barrier cloth and spread the cushioning. A motion to purchase the cushioning at the price of $14.50 per 100 cubic yard for the playground by Robert Garlin, 2nd by Mark Schoppaul, passed.
2. Motorcycle Ride – The ride ended with the tragic death of police Latimore Township Sergeant Michael C. Weigand. He was killed after being struck by an oncoming vehicle while he was escorting the ride on the township police motorcycle. The proceeds from the entrance fees and raffle sales were $192.00. A discussion followed about using the funds for a memorial to Mike Weigand at the park. The township supervisors have stated they will pay for a plaque in his honor at the park. Suggestions made include planting a tree, or creating a memorial garden in his honor, with the approval of the family. Contributions toward the memorial would be welcome from the community. Further decisions will be held at a later date.
