LATIMORE TOWNSHIP PARK BOARD MINUTES
January 7, 2009
The advertised regular monthly meeting of the Latimore Township Park Board was held on January 7, 2009 at the Latimore Township Building at 559 Old U.S. Route 15, York Springs, PA 17372. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Woody Myers.
Pledge of Allegiance
In Attendance: Chairman Woody Myers, Vice Chairman Mark Schoppaul, Field Maintenance Robert Garlin, Field and League Facilitator Michael Patterson and Secretary/Financial Lynn Schoppaul.
Absent: Member Casey Coble.
Minutes of the December 3rd, 2008 meeting were approved as read.
Board Reorganization: Motion by Robert Garlin to keep all positions the same, 2nd by Mark Schoppaul, passed.
Status of Park Board accounts: December Balance PLGIT $5,151.90
Grant $1,001.13
Old Business:
1. Playground installation – Further work is on hold until the weather improves.
2. Chemical Application License - Township Supervisor’s approved the renewal of the chemical application license for Casey Coble. A motion to pay the $75.00 license fee by Mark Schoppaul, 2nd by Robert Garlin passed.
New Business:
1. Jason Stamm representing the Soccer League attended. The new field use agreement was explained and a copy supplied to Mr. Stamm. The league has grown from about 200 to 250 participants. They will submit the filled-out form to request the fields. If the upper field is not reserved by any other league, they may be interested in improving that field for future use.
2. A program is being held at the Farm Show Jan. 15th, about using mushroom soil in parks. Supervisor Larry Dost will be attending. Robert Garlin volunteered to go if he can arrange the time off.
3. Park Board Letterhead – The township secretary has designed a new letterhead for the Park Board. The consensus of the board was to accept the sample letterhead provided.
Bills List: A motion by Mark Schoppaul, 2nd by Robert Garlin, to pay the bills passed.
