Minutes of the June 1, 2005 and July 6, 2005 meetings approved as read

Status of the Park Board Account: $7,226.39.

Old Business:
1. Chairman Sam Giardullo contacted food vendor Lee Miller who is available to start Saturday food sales at the park. Sales will start in conjunction with the Soccer league schedule.

2. Elwood Myers stated he will drag the softball field again to get it ready for the fall. He asked to be given the Softball League's schedule so that he can open the baseball equipment storage box for them before their practices and games.

3. The Township Secretary sent letters to the businesses in the community requesting assistance in installing the security system in the park. To date, one business, Chahal, Inc., has responded with a donation.

New Business:

1. Park Day plans include a Bluegrass band called Apple Core who will play for free. They will be scheduled for 11:30 through lunch time. The Township secretary will be sending letters to last year's yard sale participants inviting them to reserve spaces at $10.00 a space again. Both the York Springs and Franklintown Fire Departments will be represented and Franklintown will again provide food. Robert Garlin will be making more arrangements for helicopter landings, a possible vehicle extrication demonstration by rescue personnel, and rides. Elwood Myers will contact the antique tractor owners again about participating.

2. The next Park Work Day has been scheduled for September 10th, at 9:00 AM. Park Work Day projects include moving the fill from the end of the parking lot to areas behind the shed that need to be filled, pulling out the remaining dead trees along the road, fixing the dusk to dawn light and replacing the light bulb in the one parking lot light that is out. The township backhoe will be requested for use in these projects. The weeds in the parking lot will be mowed by Park Board members as the contractor mowing the grass has not been doing that area.

3. The estimate for a four foot high, one thousand foot long chain link fence was received. This cost, plus the cost estimates for the walking paths will be added to the grant application to be submitted this fall.
