COMMUNITY CRIME WATCH ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF 9/26/2002
The September Latimore Township/York Springs Community Crime Watch Association Meeting was held at the Lake Meade Fire Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM by Myron Bird. There were 7 members present, in addition to Officer Mike Weigand of York Springs/ Latimore Township Police Department.
MINUTES:
The minutes of the prior meeting were distributed and approved by the membership.
FINANCIAL REPORT:
No report was given.
LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORT:
The report was given by Officer Weigand. He told us how the combined
efforts of the police departments solved the vandalism crimes that occurred from
May 4th through July 16th. He also stated that the Crime Watch Program is working
in our area, that the police department can see a difference.

LAKE MEADE, BOB ZANGUENEH:
Bob reported that the Crime Watch Meeting will be mentioned in the Lake Meader.
LATIMORE TOWNSHIP, BUD HUBER:
No report available.
OLD BUSINESS:
It was mentioned that Latimore Valley Park Day will be held on September 28th. Officer Weigand said that he would be there.
Mike also reported that the Crime Watch Signs will cost about
$3-$7 each. The aluminum will be donated for the signs and will be made for
us at "cost of materials only". Mike will bring us samples of the signs and Bob
will check to see where they can be placed in Lake Meade.

PROGRAM:
Officer Weigand showed us a video about Rural Crime. He told us
the type of items that are stolen and things to be aware of and alert to. It was very
interesting, even if we do not live on a farm, we pass them every day and need to
know what looks odd.
NEXT MEETING INFORMATION:
The next meeting of the Crime Watch Association will be held at York Springs Firehouse on October 24th at 7:30 PM.
Officer Weigand will have another interesting and informative program
for us, about Crimes Relating to Hunting Season.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 9:25.
