Questions from the floor:
Bonding requirement: Should the committee be bonded? Response: Since we do not have a great deal of money in our program at this time, the cost of bonding would not be cost effective..
Liability: Should the committee carry liability or personal injury insurance: Response:
The program activities fall under the Good Samaritan Act and therefore we do not need the coverage, nor can we afford it at this time.
Not reporting Criminal Activities: Concern from the floor, that some members of Lake Meade are not reporting criminal or mischievous activities within the lake.
Response: Chairman will meet with the Lake Meade Traffic and Safety Committee in March, when they meet next and address this issue. There is nothing that either the Lake Meade Security nor the Township Police can do, if members do not get a call. Simple.
Route 15 Traffic Safety Campaign:
Development of a campaign theme has been created, and number of ideas are under consideration to include, education, enforcement, Engineering, Community Partnership to include Municipalities, Schools, Colleges, Law Enforcement Agencies, First Responders, business/industry along Route 15, Community Organizations, dealing with the Williams Grove Speedway, working with the media, to include radio, television, movie theaters, working with Penn DOT, and Maryland Department of Transportation.
